Torre Vecchia is a large fortified farmhouse facing the Monte Argentario peninsula, only an hour and a half from Rome in one of the most fashionable and exclusive areas of Italy. Nestling in the heart of an ancient Maremmana olive grove, the 17th century house overlooks the lagoon of Orbetello and the sea. The closest beach is the Feniglia, bordered by a magnificent forest of umbrella pines which marks the boundary of a well protected nature reserve, ideal for cycling and hiking. The famous Etruscan centers of Tarquinia and Vulci (active around 800 BC) are only 45 minutes' drive away, each containing a wealth of museums, tombs and frescoes walls.
